Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao emphasised the growing importance of mental health awareness in the current fast-paced world. He urged people to shed stigma around mental health issues and consult professionals to address them.
“Mental health is as important as physical health. Seeking help from professionals should not be seen as a weakness,” he said, adding that untreated stress is contributing to rising health issues, including diabetes and even suicides.
Rama Rao inaugurated Amrutha Sankalp Clinic, a new mental wellness centre set up by Dr Surendra, Sirisha, and Vijayalakshmi, in Gachibowli on Friday. He lauded the clinic’s founders for their timely initiative. He emphasised that facilities like Amrutha Sankalp Clinic are crucial for enabling people to access timely psychological support, especially when they cannot confide in family or friends.
