Hyderabad: The Northern corridor of Hyderabad has got its first Information Technology Tower under the State government’s Growth in Dispersion (GRID) Policy. The Gateway IT Park situated in Kandlakoya Village un-der the Medchal-Malkajgiri District was officially unveiled. The IT and Industries K T Rama Rao laid the foundation stone for the park on the occasion of the birthday of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Spread across six lakh sq feet of area, the fourteen-storey IT park is spread across 10 acres of land and will be set up at a cost of Rs 100 crore. This is the tallest IT park in the State and it is likely to create 50,000 jobs.
Sharing the news on Twitter, K T Rama Rao tweeted, “As part of our strategy of growth in dispersion across the State, a new IT park at Kandlakoya junction on ORR has been conceptualised as a gateway to Hyderabad. Happy to be laying the foundation today on the birthday of a Living Legend Telangana CM Sri KCR Garu.”

Under the GRID policy, the State is planning to develop the IT industries in different locations in the city and the State and not just concentrate the industry in one part of Hyderabad – which is the Western corridor. The State has already approved IT parks in Uppal, Nagole and LB Nagar other than setting IT towers in tier-2 towns like Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal, among others.
