KTR moves Supreme Court over Formula-E case, challenges High Court verdict
BRS leader's advocate files petition in apex court registry seeking relief against what they called a false case filed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Telangana
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao has approached the Supreme Court, challenging the Telangana High Court’s dismissal of his quash petition in the Formula-E case.
His advocate, Mohit Rao, filed the petition in the Supreme Court registry, seeking relief against what they called a false case filed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Telangana.
The Telangana High Court had earlier dismissed Rama Rao’s plea to quash the ACB case, revoking its interim orders that prevented his arrest. Following extensive arguments, the court reserved its judgement and announced it on Tuesday, prompting the former Minister to escalate the matter to the apex court.
The BRS leader has reportedly discussed the legal implications with his team before moving forward. Meanwhile, the Congress-led Revanth Reddy government has filed a caveat petition in the Supreme Court regarding the same case. The petition requests the court to hear their arguments if Rama Rao’s case was taken up.
