KTR puts errant officials on notice
The Minister on Thursday directed MA&UD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar to immediately identify those responsible for the open manhole issue in the Secunderabad zone and to take action against them
Hyderabad: Negligence towards duty on part of officials and staff of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will not be accepted, MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao said.
The Minister on Thursday directed MA&UD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar to immediately identify those responsible for the open manhole issue in the Secunderabad zone and to take action against them. He also sought steps to ensure such situations do not recur again. Following the directions, Arvind Kumar got the matter enquired and issued orders suspending an assistant engineer and works inspector and explanation was also sought from their senior officials.
Meanwhile, the GHMC officials imposed a penalty of Rs 1 lakh on the agency responsible for works under the comprehensive road maintenance programme in Padmaraonagar.
