Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao ridiculed TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud’s claim that the All India Congress Committee (AICC) was pleased with the Congress government’s performance in Telangana.

“Could there be a more absurd statement?” he asked, stating that the Congress had betrayed the people of Telangana once again.

Countering Mahesh Kumar Goud on X on Sunday, Rama Rao said innocent farmers were shackled and jailed, besides their land being forcibly acquired in Kodangal. “Is AICC satisfied because farmers are being exploited at procurement centres? Or because thousands of homes are set to be demolished under the Musi River rejuvenation project? Or is it pleased with the terror unleashed on the poor under HYDRAA?” he asked sarcastically.

The BRS working president mocked the Congress for releasing guarantee cards to fulfill the electoral promises including two lakh government jobs and other welfare schemes, but not delivering them. “Even after a year, the guarantee of two lakh jobs is nowhere to be seen, and the guarantee card with welfare promises remains buried, and Telangana’s progress has been derailed,” he remarked, adding that the Congress had pushed the State into financial ruin.

He criticised the government’s inability to deliver on its promises of development and welfare, asserting that Telangana’s four crore citizens were outraged by the Congress’s governance. He stated that the Congress’s track record was about nothing but deceit and that the people of Telangana would not be fooled by empty claims.
