KTR says Congress has lost people’s confidence ahead of Yuva Sangrama Sabha
BRS working president KT Rama Rao alleged that the Congress government had lost public confidence by failing to fulfil its electoral promises. Reviewing preparations for the Yuva Sangrama Sabha, he urged party leaders to ensure the event's success despite possible disruptions.
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao stated that the Congress government had lost the people’s confidence and would be remembered in history as a government that invited massive public resentment before completing even half of its term. He said the Congress had betrayed every section of society by failing to implement a single electoral promise.
Rama Rao made these remarks while addressing a meeting of party leaders, Hyderabad MLAs, MLCs, public representatives and senior leaders at the residence of LB Nagar MLA D Sudheer Reddy on Thursday, ahead of the party’s Yuva Sangrama Sabha on July 18. He reviewed the preparations and held detailed discussions on all logistical and organisational arrangements to ensure the grand success of the Yuva Sangrama Sabha.
“The Congress has transformed itself into a deceitful government. Women, farmers, students, unemployed youth and no other section have been spared,” he said. He stated that instead of focusing on welfare, the government had made corruption, scams and administrative excesses its daily agenda.
The BRS working president said even the Chief Minister’s own internal survey had revealed severe public dissatisfaction, following which Revanth Reddy began making reckless statements out of frustration as he sensed his government’s days were numbered.
On the ongoing agrarian crisis, Rama Rao said it was unfortunate that when farmers were pleading for irrigation water, the Chief Minister responded with remarks implying that blood would have to be shed. He said that at a time when Telangana’s agriculture was reeling under drought-like conditions, such insensitive statements had angered people across the State.
“The Congress has pushed farmers to a point where they are asking the government to take their blood, but give water to their fields,” he said.
The BRS working president announced that the Yuva Sangrama Sabha, a mass convention of students and unemployed youth, would be held at Saroornagar Stadium on July 18 to expose the Congress government’s failure to honour its Youth Declaration. The event follows the Warangal Farmers’ Meeting and is part of a series of public mobilisation programmes that the BRS is organising across the State.
Ahead of the convention, Rama Rao cautioned party leaders that the ruling Congress might attempt to disrupt the event and asked them to remain prepared. Senior leaders informed him that large numbers of youth were expected not only from Hyderabad but also from neighbouring Assembly constituencies.
