Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the reorganisation of districts by the BRS government had brought governance closer to the people.
On the completion of a decade since the formation of the new districts, he extended his wishes to the people of Telangana.
In a post on X, Rama Rao said BRS chief K Chandrashekhar Rao, who had achieved statehood for Telangana and provided self-governance, reorganised the districts to ensure effective administration.
“By converting 10 districts into 33 districts, the BRS government decentralised power and brought governance right to the people,” Rama Rao said.
He said the creation of new districts had fulfilled the long-standing aspirations of the people. Chandrashekhar Rao had also named the districts to reflect the distinctive characteristics of their respective regions, he added.
Earlier, people had to travel 100 to 150 kilometres to reach district headquarters. The reorganisation had made district headquarters more accessible to the public, Rama Rao said.
“Government offices have been opened in every corner of Telangana, priority has been given to the development of medical and educational facilities, and welfare has reached every household,” he said.
