Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on the Congress government for the never-ending wait of Telangana farmers for support in its one year of rule. He said farmers continue to wait for everything – from Rythu Bandhu to Rythu Bima, crop loan waiver to power and water supply, and urea supply to crop procurement.
Sharing media reports on the farmers’ plight on X, Rama Rao criticised the government for ignoring crucial issues, leaving farmers in Palamuru, Wyra, Bayyaram and Jagtial struggling for support prices for crucial crops, power, and fertilisers.
“Farmers are being forced to abandon cultivation and hit the streets for their basic needs,” he said.
Contrasting it with the BRS regime, he said farmers, who once cultivated with confidence under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s rule, were now filled with sorrow and uncertainty under the Congress government. He warned that the progress achieved over the last decade was slipping away due to the current government’s inefficiency. He called on for farmers and people of Telangana to take up the fight for their rights.
