KTR criticises Congress for failing farmers, delay in Rythu Bharosa disbursement

Nalgonda: BRS working president KT Rama Rao tore into the Congress government over delay in disbursement of Rythu Bharosa funds and failing farmers who have been awaiting the financial assistance for last one year. He charged the Congress with using farmer welfare schemes as political tools and feared that Rythu Bharosa would be scrapped after the local body polls.
Addressing the massive gathering of farmers at the Rythu Maha Dharna held at the Clock Tower Centre in Nalgonda on Tuesday, Rama Rao stated that the Congress, after offering Rythu Bandhu financial assistance to farmers during the Lok Sabha elections, is now playing the same drama ahead of local body polls.
“Revanth Reddy announced that Rythu Bharosa money would be disbursed since Monday, but most farmers are yet to see the promised funds. The Congress owes Rs 17,500 per acre to farmers since it came to power, yet it delays their dues,” he remarked.
Drawing comparisons, the BRS working president pointed out that under the leadership of former Chief Minister K Chandrahshekhar Rao, the BRS government had implemented the Rythu Bandhu scheme 11 times without using it for political mileage. He said that Congress was conspiring to scrap the scheme to erase Chandrashekhar Rao’s legacy.
“Just like Aarogyasri is synonymous with former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, Rythu Bandhu is synonymous with K Chandrashekhar Rao in Telangana,” he said.
Rama Rao targeted the Congress for failing to address long-standing issues, such as the fluoride crisis in Nalgonda, claiming it worsened during their rule. He credited Chandrashekhar Rao for making Telangana the top rice producer in the country and getting rid of fluoride problem, emphasising the State’s progress under BRS leadership.
The former Minister urged the people of Nalgonda to hold the Congress accountable and demand concrete action on crop loan waivers, crop bonus, and welfare schemes. “This protest is not just about exposing the Congress’s failures, but also about reaffirming BRS’s commitment to farmers’ welfare,” he declared.
He assured that the BRS would continue its focus on State welfare and development, leaving no stone unturned to protect the interests of Telangana’s farmers.
Rama Rao also blasted Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, challenging him to a public debate on Nalgonda’s development. He criticised the Congress government for neglecting the district’s IT sector and stated that the IT Tower constructed by the previous BRS government in Nalgonda has turned into a haven for anti-social elements including drunkards under the current administration.
The Mahadharna turned out to be a grand success, with farmers and the BRS supporters participating in large numbers. They raised slogans demanding the Congress government to deliver on its promises to the farming community.
