Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao criticised the Congress government for its lack of preparedness despite advance forecast of heavy rains and floods. He urged the party cadre to step in where the administration has fallen short and provide relief measures for the needy.
Ahead of his visit to rain-affected areas in Rajanna Sircilla and Kamareddy districts on Thursday, Rama Rao held a teleconference with the party MLAs, MLCs, MPs, district presidents and other senior leaders. He instructed BRS activists and public representatives to actively participate in rescue and relief efforts, provide food and drinking water in submerged areas, set up medical camps and to take up sanitation measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
The BRS working president pointed out that under the previous BRS regime, coordination with NDRF and SDRF was ensured to mitigate disasters.
“The government has completely failed in advance planning and relief measures,” he said.
