Hyderabad: TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao took a jibe at the Centre for lack of its support towards development in Telangana. As Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao dedicated the Mallanna Sagar reservoir to people of Telangana, he took to the social media asking people what was the union government’s contribution towards Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme which was largest lift irrigation scheme in the world.

“World’s largest lift irrigation project #Kaleshwaram reaches a major milestone today with the dedication of #MallannaSagar reservoir. How much do you think Govt of India contributed to this project that is largest in the world & great pride for India? Any guesses? (sic),” he questioned on Twitter.

Even as netizens slammed the Centre for its zero contribution, the Minister stated that the Centre had neither granted national status nor financial assistance. “YET, India’s youngest state completes world’s largest lift irrigation project in a record time! Love overcomes challenges and CM KCR’s love for Telangana is unmatched (sic),” he tweeted.

No national status from the Central Govt. No financial assistance either. YET, India’s youngest state completes world’s largest lift irrigation project in a record time!
