Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao trained his guns at both the BJP and Congress on Tuesday, taking a dig at the so-called “Double Engine” governance model of the BJP, and the Congress government in Telangana targeting the poor.
Reacting to the collapse of the Gambhira bridge on the Mahisagar River in Gujarat’s Padra, Rama Rao likened the incident to a scene from an English movie.
“One second you are on the bridge, the next in the river,” he remarked. He recalled the Morbi bridge tragedy that claimed over 140 lives and called the latest collapse another “glorious example of the Double Engine Gujarat model.”
He questioned whether the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) or any other bridge safety agencies would investigate the recurring infrastructure failures in Gujarat, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh which are all BJP-ruled States. He also wished for speedy recovery to all the injured.
In a separate statement, the BRS working president targeted Congress Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi over the demolition of houses in Telangana.
“Congratulations to Rahul Gandhi on bringing Bulldozer Raj to Telangana,” he said, sharing the photographs of a woman lying in front of a bulldozer to prevent it from demolishing her house in Hyderabad. He pointed out that the State government was targeting only the poor, while sparing the rich and might Congress leaders.
