Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao targeted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, for reducing Telangana to an ATM for the Congress and earning the dubious distinction of being Telangana “Bag Man”. He said with the Enforcement Directorate filing charge sheet against him, Revanth Reddy was now trying his best to distract the people’s attention from his corrupt practices.

In a series of posts on X, Rama Rao said the ED’s findings corroborate what BRS has been saying for a long time, that Revanth Reddy collected massive donations to the Young India organisation in exchange for political posts and favours. He slammed the Chief Minister for turning the prosperous Telangana into financial mess with his corruption.

“Revanth Reddy indulged in corrupt practices, earning hundreds of crores for the Congress high command even before becoming the Chief Minister. His corruption, which started with hundreds of crores, has now touched thousands within just 18 months of rule,” he said.

Raising questions, the BRS working president asked whether the NDA government would act against Revanth Reddy after naming him in the charge sheet or pardon him as done in case of AMRUT scam, RR tax and civil supplies irregularities. “Will Revanth Reddy now plead with BJP leaders behind closed doors, like Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Redy did?” he suspected.

He also pointed to internal rifts within the Congress. “Even Congress MLAs like Anirudh Reddy are now admitting that files don’t move without 30 per cent commission. Their own minister, Konda Surekha, has said this openly,” he pointed out.

Taking a dig at the Chief Minister’s growing political vulnerability, Rama Rao remarked that Revanth Reddy is spending sleepless nights due to fear of losing his post. He said Revanth Reddy was looting Telangana’s resources while trying to divert public attention with theatrics.

“Revanth Reddy has betrayed the trust of four crore people. Justice may take time, but in the end, truth will prevail,” he added.
