Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao has urged the government to address the issues faced by mini Anganwadi teachers across the State immediately. Representatives of the Telangana Mini Anganwadi Teachers Association met him at Telangana Bhavan and discussed their concerns.

Led by the association’s state president, Aadepu Varalakshmi, the representatives highlighted several issues. Despite the government’s decision to upgrade 3,989 mini Anganwadi centers to main Anganwadi centers, the process has not been fully implemented. Although mini Anganwadi teachers started receiving salaries equal to main Anganwadi teachers (Rs 13,650) from January, discrepancies arose in March, with salaries reverting to the old amount of Rs 7,800. This has caused significant financial difficulties for the teachers. The representatives also pointed out that mini Anganwadi teachers have to perform more tasks compared to their counterparts in main centers.

Financial issues related to the centers were also discussed. Rent, vegetable bills, and other expenses have been pending for months, affecting the teachers’ livelihoods.Rama Rao assured the representatives that he would bring these issues to the government’s attention and work towards resolving them in the upcoming assembly sessions. He emphasized the need for immediate action to resolve the issues faced by Anganwadi teachers.
