KTR urges States to learn from each other for collective national growth
Participating in a panel discussion at Tycon TiECon Kerala 2024 conference on Thursday, Rama Rao drew comparisons between India and global leaders like China and Taiwan in innovation and manufacturing.
Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao emphasised the need for Indian States leveraging their unique strengths and learning from each other’s experiences to drive development. He called for a united approach to innovation and progress, urging Indian states to learn from each other’s experiences for collective national growth.
He shared Telangana‘s journey over the last decade, highlighting policies that transformed the State into an innovation and industrial hub, emerging as a model for other States to emulate.
Participating in a panel discussion at Tycon TiECon Kerala 2024 conference on Thursday, Rama Rao drew comparisons between India and global leaders like China and Taiwan in innovation and manufacturing. Urging Indian States to adopt more robust policies tailored to their specific needs and match global standards, he suggested that States like Kerala could draw inspiration from Telangana’s industrial strategies, such as the TS-iPass self-certification system, which had earned global acclaim for streamlining industrial approvals.
“Telangana’s success over the last decade demonstrates how innovative policies can transform a region. We established the world’s largest incubator T-Hub in Hyderabad through collaborations with ISB, NALSAR, and IIIT. Initiatives like T-Hub, WE-Hub, and T-Works have made Hyderabad a leader in India’s startup ecosystem,” he said, pointing to Telangana’s economic growth, particularly its top rankings in per capita income and GSDP, as evidence of the success of these policies.
Highlighting revolutionary projects, the former IT and Industries Minister mentioned the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project and Mission Bhagiratha, which solved critical issues like irrigation and drinking water in a record time. He also narrated the success of attracting the Kitex Group from Kerala to Telangana, securing investments worth Rs.3,000 crores, through proactive engagement and investor-friendly policies.
He explained about Telangana’s commitment to women entrepreneurs under the previous BRS government, with initiatives like WE-Hub and a special quota for women in industrial parks. He also stressed the need for aligning education with industry demands, citing programs like TASK that prepare youth for post-education employment.
Praising Kerala’s social and economic achievements, Rama Rao extended an invitation to Kerala’s industry leaders and entrepreneurs to collaborate with Telangana and learn from its journey. He offered his personal support for Kerala’s entrepreneurial growth to foster collaborations with Telangana’s industrial giants and universities. “Malayalis, known for their hardworking nature, can replicate their global success within Kerala itself,” he added.
