Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao warned the ruling Congress and its affiliated social media handles against using AI-generated fake photographs and videos to spread misinformation against BRS leaders.
He warned of legal action against those creating, circulating or deliberately broadcasting the alleged fake content, including media organisations.
The BRS party has lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime police in this regard.
In a statement, Rama Rao said AI-generated fabricated images were being used to portray the BRS leaders attacking the police in the recent confrontation at the Assembly gate, despite no such attacks taking place. He said the fake images were being circulated only to divert attention from the actual attack on the BRS legislators.
He said the BRS would not tolerate attempts to mislead people by presenting AI-generated content as genuine. He also urged media organisations not to become part of the Congress propaganda and instead, verify veracity of these photographs and videos before publishing them. He reiterated that those responsible for damaging the reputation of BRS leaders would face legal action.
