Hyderabad: The Kukatpally police are continuing their investigation into the brutal murder of an 11-year-old girl reported on Monday afternoon.
The child was alone at home when the assailant stabbed her, reportedly leading to her death. The post-mortem report revealed the child was stabbed 21 times.
The police had taken into custody a suspect who stayed in the same building. However, he has so far not been connected to the crime.
The police suspect that a personal grudge against the victim’s family could be one of the reasons for the murder. They are also investigating a possible black magic angle and have rounded up some suspects for questioning.
The victim was a Class 6 student at Kendriya Vidyalaya. Her father is a bike mechanic and her mother a lab technician. On Monday, while her six-year-old brother had gone to school, the victim stayed back at home due to holidays.
