Kukatpally robbery: four bike-borne assailants flee with one crore
Unidentified assailants robbed two men of Rs 1 crore in Kukatpally after attacking them with chilli powder. Police formed special teams to nab the suspects and are probing a possible hawala link to the cash
Hyderabad: HYDERABAD: A major robbery was reported in Kukatpally around midnight on Monday, triggering panic among residents.
According to preliminary information, two men, identified as Khusru and Azeemuddin from Bahadurpura, were carrying a large sum of cash when they were targeted by unidentified assailants.
Police said four suspects arrived on motorcycles and attacked the victims. The assailants allegedly threw chilli powder into their eyes, temporarily blinding and disorienting them, before fleeing with approximately Rs 1 crore in cash.
On receiving information, Kukatpally police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. Four special teams have been formed to trace and apprehend the suspects.
Officials suspect the looted cash may be linked to hawala transactions and said the case is being probed from multiple angles.
