KVG clinches double in sub-junior floodlit cricket tournament

KVG 1 achieved a double by winning both the boys under-14 and girls trophies in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy floodlit cricket tournament at Sports Coaching Foundation, Hyderabad. Junaid, Venkat, Kirthi and Sabiha starred in the finals

Hyderabad: KVG 1 completed a double, winning both the boys under-14 and girls trophies in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy floodlit cricket tournament for sub-juniors at Sports Coaching Foundation (Masab Tank) here.

In the boys final, KVG recorded a six-wicket win against Red Hills, while in the girls final it scored a six-wicket win against Safari Government High School.


M Gopalakrishna, IAS (Retd), former Director of NMDC and former Chairman of Godavari Fertilisers Ltd, gave away the prizes.

The scores:

Boys Under-14 Final: Red Hills CC 45/7 in 8 overs (Rahul 23, Sai 3/8) lost to KVG 1 46/4 in 6.5 overs (Junaid 20 no).

Under-12: KVG 1 45/3 in 6 overs (Venkat 25 no, Safi 2/5) bt Future Windows 35/6 in 6 overs.

Girls Under-14 Final: Safari GHS 48/3 in 8 overs (Abida Begum 31 no) lost to KVG 1 49/4 in 5.1 overs (Kirthi 28 no, Sabiha 3/8).
