Labourer drowns in Murredu stream while transporting sand in bullock cart in Kothagudem
A 39-year-old labourer from Sativarigudem village drowned in the Murredu stream at Chatakonda gram panchayat, Laxmidevipally mandal, while transporting sand in a bullock cart.
Kothagudem: A labourer transporting sand in a bullock cart drowned in Murredu stream in Chatakonda gram panchayat of Laxmidevipally mandal in the district on Sunday.
According to the locals, when Eesala Venkateshwarlu (39) of Sativarigudem village in the mandal was transporting sand from the stream, his bullock cart got stuck in the water. After pulling the bullock cart to the bank, he went into the stream to retrieve his clothes which had fallen in the water.
At that time he got stuck in the water and became unconscious. By the time the locals noticed him and tried to pull him out he had already died. Upon receiving information about the incident, Laxmidevipally police reached the spot, registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
