Khammam: A labourer fell down from a water tank that he was cleaning and died at a Girls Gurukul at Bonakal in Khammam district on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as A Bakkaiah (53) of Ravinutala village in the mandal. He suffered a head injury and died on the spot after accidentally falling down on the ground from the second floor of the Gurukul hostel building on which the water tank was located.
The Gurukul officials engaged him to clean the tank as the institution was reopened on Thursday. The local police booked a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
