Hyderabad: M R Lalit Babu won a bronze medal in the Commonwealth Chess Championship held in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

With an impressive score of seven points out of nine rounds, Lalit Babu finished strong in a highly competitive field.

Earlier this month, Lalit, Grade C manager (sports) in the Indian Oil Corporation, faced a tough setback after being eliminated in the first round of the Chess World Cup, despite delivering an excellent performance on the global stage.
