Law student develops cyber alert app

Hyderabad: A final-year-student from College of Law, KL Deemed-to-be-University, D Rahul Shashank has developed a cyber-security mobile application that offers digital security, apart from offering features like e-complaint filing, cyber internships and consultations, a release from KL Deemed-to-be-University, said.

The cyber alert application, which is available in English and Telugu, is simple, convenient and assists users in safeguarding their digital identity, Shashank said.

The cyber alert app alerts users before they fall victim to cyber-fraud, allows users to file cyber complaints, tracks their grievances, provides access to resources related to cyber security and cyber laws, includes list of cyber police stations with their GPS locations, has information related to cyber internships and workshops related to cyber security and guides users on availing legal aid, press release said.

“Often, unauthorized access to private information gets undetected by users. The increased number of cyber-attacks during the pandemic made us to launch the app. The University was quite confident in this venture and supported our journey throughout. We are grateful for the mentorship and guidance provided by the faculty”, said D. Rahul Shashank, Founder and CEO, Cyber Alert.

Dr. G. Pardha Saradhi Varma, VC, KL Deemed-to-be University and Principal, KL College of Law, Prof N Rangaiah congratulated Rahul Shashank for developing the mobile application.  The app is available on the play store.
