Hyderabad: Police hold cyber crime awareness programme at Amberpet school
Hyderabad City Police conducted a cyber crime awareness programme at Pragati Vidyaniketan High School, Amberpet, educating students and staff on online scams, phishing, identity theft and safe digital practices amid a rise in cyber fraud cases

Hyderabad: In view of the alarming rise in cybercrime incidents, the Hyderabad City Police conducted a cybercrime awareness programme at Pragati Vidyaniketan High School, Amberpet, here on Saturday.
Addressing 350 students and 50 teaching and non-teaching staff, Additional DCP East Zone J Narsaiah elaborated on different cyber frauds such as online scams, phishing, fake job offers, digital arrests, identity theft, social media misuse, and financial fraud.
Narsaiah advised students and teachers not to accept friend requests, messages, or video calls from unknown persons. He also advised them not to share OTPs, passwords, bank details, Aadhaar, PAN, or other personal identity information to unknown people.
The additional DCP asked the participants to refrain from clicking suspicious links, QR codes, or pop-up advertisements and advised them to use strong passwords and two-factor authentication for their social media accounts.
Pragati Vidyaniketan High School chairman Sadula Madhusudhan said the programme was informative and beneficial for students and staff, and would help in creating a safer digital environment. Amberpet Police Station Inspector Kiran Kumar, SIs Tarun Kumar and Meghana, among others, also participated in the programme.
