Lawyer couple’s murder: Court grants 7-day police custody of accused
On Monday, police filed a custody petition in the court seeking the custody of the three accused Kunta Srinivas, S Chiranjeevi and Akkapaka Kumar for further investigation

Peddapalli: A local court in Manthani on Wednesday granted seven days police custody of the accused involved in the brutal murder of advocate couple Gattu Samana Rao and PV Nagamani near Kalvacherla on February 17.
The court had remanded the three accused Kunta Srinivas, S Chiranjeevi and Akkapaka Kumar to 14 days judicial custody on February 19. On Monday, police filed a custody petition in the court seeking the custody of the trio for further investigation. The court on Wednesday gave the accused for seven days police custody.
The court also remanded to judicial custody Bittu Srinu alias Thulsigari Srinivas, the A-4 in the case. He was shifted to Karimangar district prison.
The police produced Bittu Srinu before Additional Munsif Court at 12.05 am on Wednesday. The judge Mandani Sridhar remanded him to 14 days judicial custody.
A-5 in the case, Udari Lachaiah was taken into custody by the police. Police also registered the case against Lachaiah as the latter helped Kunta Srinivas to cross check whether the advocate couple had arrived at Manthani court.
