Revanth Reddy placed floral tributes before the mortal remains and hailed Sudhakar Reddy as a leader who grew with uncompromising principles and fought relentlessly for the poor and the masses. Calling him the pride of Palamuru, the Chief Minister said Sudhakar Reddy’s legacy would be honoured by the government, which would soon initiate a programme in his memory after Cabinet deliberations.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao paid floral tributes and consoled the bereaved family on behalf of his party and its chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He termed Sudhakar Reddy’s demise as an irreplaceable loss. He recalled the veteran leader’s active role in people’s movements, his leadership of the CPI for seven years, and his crucial support for the Telangana statehood cause. He remembered that from a student leader to a national figure, Sudhakar Reddy’s journey reflected extraordinary commitment.

Several Ministers, MLAs and former MPs including Vinod Kumar, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Mutha Gopal, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, Kaleru Venkatesh, Puvvada Ajay and Jeevan Reddy also paid their respects.

Sudhakar Reddy’s body was kept at Makhdoom Bhavan for public viewing and was later handed over to Gandhi Medical College. His eyes were donated to LV Prasad Eye Hospital, in line with his wishes. The veteran leader passed away on Friday night while undergoing treatment in Hyderabad.
