Hyderabad: A Twitter troll faced the wrath of actor Lavanya Tripathi after he made an objectionable statement on Twitter. The ‘Andala Rakshasi’ actor slammed the troll and asked him to respect everyone instead of doing it only when a woman is victimised.
Recently, the death of a 17-year-old girl named Lavanya stirred up a controversy in Tamil Nadu. The alleged suicide of Lavanya triggered a debate on social media over topics related to forcible conversion of Hindus into Christianity.
As part of the campaign, a few netizens unknowingly used the hashtag #lavanyatripathi. A user named Kartik Aggarwal seems to have been carried by the heat. He tweeted saying, “Lavanya Tripathi is an actress and not someone who has done any sacrifice for Dharma. Don’t compare the victim Lavanya with the cheap actresses(sic).”
Objectionable usage of language “cheap actress” has upset the actor. She angrily replied and asked the troll to start respecting women all the time, instead of doing it only when a woman is victimised. “Why do men like you start respecting women when something horrible happens, before that they call them cheap.. Learn to respect everyone! Extremely unfortunate incident, but this is the reality of our society,” she wrote.
