Mahabubnagar: A leopard was found dead on National Highway-167 along Mahabubnagar-Raichur route at Kakatiya School near Manyamkonda on Wednesday morning. The officials suspect that the leopard was crossing the road in search of food when an unidentified vehicle ran over it resulting in its death.
Upon receiving information, the Devarakadra police and the Forest officials rushed to the spot and shifted the carcass after conducting Panchanama. The officials registered a case and took up the investigation.
Sources in the Forest department have confirmed the movement of two leopards in the surroundings of Manyamkonda hillocks. It may be recalled that another leopard died in an attack by the buffaloes in Koilkonda mandal in June this year.
