Warangal: Two accused in the ghastly murder of a woman have been sentenced to life imprisonment and 10 years imprisonment with Rs 10,000 fine by the 3rd Additional District and Session Judge K Shailaja here on Friday.
The accused Kaluvala Chandrashekar alias Chandu (23), an autorickshaw driver and resident of Warangal (A1) and Ponnam Rakesh (23), a carpenter, and a resident of Warangal, along with another accused kidnapped the victim, Gonda Madhuri, (20), a resident of Rangampet of Warangal city on November 29, 2017. They took her to Garmillapally village in an autorickshaw. They allegedly poured acid on the victim and slit her throat when she refused the love proposal of Kaluvala Chandrashekar as she was already married to another person.
She succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at MGM hospital the same night. The Zaffergadh police registered a case under sections 120 (B), 302,364 R/W 34 of the IPC and arrested the accused.
Former ACP Wardannapet, who is presently working as the DSP in ACB, Warangal, investigated case and filed the chargesheet and as many as 34 witnesses were examined in this case.
