Police seized liquor and beer worth Rs 2.15 lakh in Bheemaram mandal while it was allegedly being smuggled from Telangana to Maharashtra. The driver fled after police attempted to intercept the vehicle, and a search is underway to trace him

Mancherial: Liquor being smuggled from Telangana to Maharashtra was seized at Bheemaram mandal headquarters on Saturday. The value of the seized liquor was estimated at Rs 2.15 lakh.
Police said 228 bottles of liquor and 216 cans of beer were seized from a vehicle in which the alcohol was being transported from Telangana to Sironcha in Maharashtra. Police tried to intercept the vehicle, but the driver sped away. After chasing the vehicle, police seized the liquor. A case was registered. The driver is absconding, and a search has been launched to trace him.
