Adilabad: Locals opposed officials of the municipality and revenue departments when they were trying to carry out a survey to identify boundaries and full tank level (FTL) of an irrigation tank at Khanapur here on Friday.

Local people raised objetions about the survey and prevented the officials from conducting the activity. They apprehended that they would have to vacate the houses if the officials carried out the survey. They regretted that lives would be thrown out of the gear and claimed that they had been living in the area for many decades.

Following the opposition from the locals, the officials withdrew from the scene. They stated that they planned to conduct the survey to identify boundaries and FTL of the tank as per instructions of the higher authorities. They said that they would bring opposition of the local people to the notice of the authorities who would take a final call.
