Karimangar: Karimnagar commissionerate police have decided to shift people found wandering on the roads to Covid isolation centre.

Commissioner of Police V B Kamalasan Reddy, in a statement on Friday, said that despite the lockdown, some people were moving on the roads citing trivial reasons. “Hence, we have decided to send such people to corona isolation centres run by the government,” he said, adding that Covid tests would also be conducted on them.

If anybody tests positive for the virus, they will continue to remain in the isolation centre. People who test negative will be sent home after counseling, he said.

Besides seizing vehicles, cases under Epidemic Diseases Act and Disaster Management Act will be booked against such people. Later, the seized vehicles would be deposited in the court, he said.
