Hyderabad: Lodge Keys No. 297, the primary unit of Freemasonry, has announced CPR Training to be held on October 19 at 10 am at Goshamahal Baradari Masonic Building, with the support of GMRI Green Health Services.
It will be a practical training program for two hours and each participant will be trained on a mannequin.
A total of 40 are allowed in this training program and of them, 25 poor and first respondents will be trained free of cost.
The 25 free participants will include first responders such as cab and auto drivers, watchmen, and street vendors. The remaining 15 participants will be charged a nominal fee. A certificate will be issued at the end of the training program, a press release said.
Lodge Keys requested the public at large to nominate their first respondents such as auto, cab drivers, street vendors, and watchmen for free training.
The press release added that cardiac arrest can happen at anytime, anywhere to anyone and precaution is the best way to handle it. In India, just 2 per cent of the population is trained in CPR and without CPR 92 per cent die before making it to the hospital.
“9 in 10 people in cardiac arrest die. But CPR can help improve if performed in the first few minutes of cardiac arrest. CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of survival,” said D. Ramchandram, Project Coordinator of “Let The Hearts Beat”, a community outreach initiative of Lodge Keys No. 297.
