Lokesh Kanagaraj opens up on Nagarjuna’s big turn in Coolie

Rajinikanth’s action drama Coolie, co-starring Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj, hits theatres on August 14. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film promises high-octane action, big visuals and a festive Independence Day release.

Hyderabad: Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is all set for the release of his much-awaited film Coolie on August 14. In a chat with Baradwaj Rangan, he shared how Telugu superstar Nagarjuna came on board for the film. Lokesh said Nagarjuna was at first not sure about doing a negative role but later agreed after many discussions.

The director explained that when he told Nagarjuna about the character, the actor felt doubtful about playing such a strong and dark role. Over a period of time, after a few meetings and narrations, Nagarjuna accepted it. Lokesh said this made him very happy because the film now has a very different kind of collaboration. Fans are also curious to see Nagarjuna in a completely new shade.
