Lorry runs over bike collision victims; Two killed on Karimnagar outskirts

Two persons were killed and two others injured in a tragic road accident near Nagunur in Karimnagar rural mandal on Sunday night. The victims fell off their motorcycles after a collision and were run over by a passing lorry.

Karimnagar: Two persons died and two others were injured in a road accident on the outskirts of Nagunur in Karimnagar rural mandal on Sunday night.

The accident occurred when a lorry ran over the victims after they fell off their motorcycles on the road. The deceased were identified as Kommidi Devender Reddy, 55, of Sambaiahpalli in Sultanabad mandal, and Gudem Raghuram, 31, of Chamanapalli in Karimnagar rural mandal. They died on the spot.

Devender Reddy’s wife, Haimavathi, and another person, Thunti Ramesh, sustained serious injuries and were shifted to the Karimnagar district headquarters hospital.

Police said Devender Reddy and Haimavathi were travelling on a motorcycle, while Raghuram and Ramesh were on another motorcycle. The two motorcycles coming from opposite directions collided, causing all four riders to fall on the road.

A passing lorry then ran over them, leading to the deaths of Devender Reddy and Raghuram and injuring the other two.

Karimnagar Rural ACP Vijay Kumar and SI Laxma Reddy visited the spot and registered a case.
