Hyderabad: Loyola Academy teams won their opening rounds in contrasting styles to forge ahead while Kukatpally Housing Board Club and KVBR scored easy wins in the Legends Basketball Tournament conducted by CCOB Basketball Club.
Loyola Academy B scalped Telangana Cops at 49-47 after trailing 21-27 at the breather with Shenjo turning out an inspired performance in the second half and Daniel providng him the passes and openings even though Sai and Harish were in fine fettle for the loser.
Rahul and Vamshi were on target from the 3 point area and their accurate shots threw open the brittle defence of Supervek in a 70-47 win for Loyola Academy A team. Nitish and Sam did the scoring for Supervek but trailed 27-50 at the halftime and with Sudershan doing the scheming well for the winner, Loyola emerged deserving winners
KVBR toyed with Rovers 73-30 with Gona Pratheek and Shravan along with Srikanth being the prominent scorers for KVBR. Chris Shanker was the only player from Rovers to impress with a tally of 18 points.
KPHB’s trio of Haneesh, Aravindh and Surya proved far too superior for YMCA Hyderabad on way to a 65-24 win with only Gaurav reaching double figures for the loser.
