LVPEI founder Dr Gullapalli N Rao honoured with SantokBaa award
Dr Gullapalli N Rao, Founder of LV Prasad Eye Institute, has been honoured with the SantokBaa Humanitarian Award 2026 for his contributions to healthcare and eye care accessibility. The award ceremony was attended by prominent political leaders and social sector personalities.
Hyderabad: In recognition of his contributions to healthcare, Dr Gullapalli N Rao, Founder of LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI), has been presented with the SantokBaa Humanitarian Award 2026.
The SantokBaa Humanitarian Awards were established by Govind Dholakia, Founder Chair Emeritus of Shree Ramkrishna Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF), the philanthropic arm of Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), in 2006.
Dr Gullapalli N Rao said, “I accept the award on behalf of the many individuals and institutions who have dedicated themselves to the cause of expanding access to quality eye care.”
The award ceremony was attended by Harivansh Narayan Singh, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, Harsh Sanghavi, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, C R Patil, Union Minister for Jal Shakti, and others.
Other recipients of the awards include Reema Nanavaty, Director and Founder of the Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), and Srikant Bolla, Founder of Bollant Industries.
