Madhu Yashki Goud rushed to hospital after collapsing in Secretariat

Former MP Madhu Yashki Goud collapsed in IT Minister D Sridhar Babu’s chambers in Hyderabad’s Secretariat after chest pain. He was revived at the Secretariat dispensary and shifted to AIG Hospitals, where doctors confirmed he is stable.

Hyderabad: Former MP and senior Congress leader Madhu Yashki Goud collapsed in IT Minister D Sridhar Babu’s chambers in the Secretariat here on Tuesday afternoon.

The former MP had gone to the IT Minister’s chambers around 4 pm. Suddenly, he complained of chest pain while interacting with the Minister and collapsed on the sofa. Panic-stricken officers and staff in the Minister’s chambers sprinkled water on his face, but he had lost consciousness by then.

Goud was rushed to the dispensary in the Secretariat. After a few minutes, he regained consciousness and was offered juice. He was later shifted to AIG Hospitals in Gachibowli. Doctors said there was no cause for concern, an official from the IT Minister’s chambers said.

It may be recalled that Forest Minister Konda Surekha had fainted briefly on the sixth floor of the Secretariat on June 5 earlier this year. The Minister was heading to attend a Cabinet meeting.
