Mahabubabad: That the Congress leaders would go to any length to show their sycophancy towards their leaders was once again proved on Friday.
The Mahabubabad legislator Murali Naik put a group of school children at risk while celebrating the birthday of Vem Narendar Reddy, Government Advisor and a close confidant of CM Revanth Reddy at Kesamudram agricultural market on Friday.
The legislator and his followers brought in children from a private school to the programme, where they cut a birthday cake. Later the legislator burst hand-held crackers shaped like a trident. While the legislator and another person held aloft the hand-held crackers, sparks and thick plumes of smoke emanated.
The school girls panicked and tried to run away as the sparks began to shower on them. Even while the panicked students began scampering out, the Congress leaders were heard laughing loudly.
The videos of the entire episode were captured by people at the venue and shared extensively on social media. Condemning the incident, Abdul Haleem, an X user urged the Mahabubabad Collector to conduct an inquiry into the incident and initiate action accordingly.
