Mahabubabad: Sarpanch of Jendala thanda of Maripeda mandal in the district was booked for slapping a woman of her village with footwear. According to the sources, Sarpanch Banoth Radha had slapped one Vijaya with her footwear and hurled abuses creating panic of sorts in the thanda.
The boundary dispute between Sarpanch Banoth Rama Tara and neighbour Vijaya at the agricultural fields had reportedly led to this bizarre incident. It is alleged that the Sarpanch along with her followers attacked Vijaya and her family members on July 29. Following this, Vijaya and her family members tried to attack the family members of the Sarpanch at the fields on July 30, and both the parties tried to attack each other for the last three days. Police registered a case under section 324 IPC against the Sarpanch.
