Mahabubabad: A six-year-old boy died when he reportedly fell into a ditch dug up to construct a septic tank at Rajiv Nagar in Thorrur town in the district on Tuesday. The body was fished out of the ditch filled with rainwater on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Siripati Mahankali alias Mahesh Babu, son of Sairam and Poolamma. After he went missing on Tuesday afternoon, the worried parents searched for him on Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile, his mother Poolamma, who suspected that the boy may have slipped into the ditch, searched it with a huge stick and found the body.
The body was shifted to the Mahabubabad area hospital for postmortem.
Meanwhile, Pulugujji Venkanna (55), a fisherman, died in a tank at Cherlapalem village in the Thorrur mandal when he reportedly got entwined in the fishing net after he fell into the water while fishing. The body has been retrieved and sent for postmortem by the police.
