Hyderabad: union Coal Minister and State BJP unit president G Kishan Reddy said Maharashtra assembly poll result was an indication that the Congress had lost its relevance in the country.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Kishan Reddy said the people of Maharashtra believed in the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance and rejected the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The Congress tried to divide the people in the name of religion and caste, but the people of Maharashtra understood the conspiracy and chose to support the Mahayuti alliance, he said.

Responding to the Maharashtra poll results, union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay alleged that the MVA lost the Maharashtra assembly elections due Congress failure to implement poll promises in Telangana and Karnataka.

The main reason for MVA loss in Maharashtra was people did not believe the promises made by the Congress, he said, adding that as the party failed to implement similar promises in Telangana and Karnataka, the people of Maharashtra rejected them. “People of Maharashtra did not believe the false promises made by the Congress and its alliance. The true colour of Congress was exposed. Congress is losing support in all the States,”he said.

Coming down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the union Minister said wherever Revanth Reddy campaigned the MVA candidates lost the polls. “Crores of rupees were sent to Maharashtra from Telangana and Karnataka, but the people of that State rejected MVA and chose NDA,”he claimed.
