Hyderabad: Superstar Mahesh Babu’s nephew Ashok Galla said that the actor is doing fine and will return back to good health in the next four days. Ashok was speaking on Saturday on the sidelines of his upcoming film ‘Hero’ which is scheduled to hit the screens on Sankranti. “Mahesh garu will soon announce an update. He is doing fine and it may take another four days for him to turn Covid negative,” he added.
Mahesh is supposed to promote the film of his nephew; however, he fell sick after contracting Covid on Thursday. “The decision to release my Telugu debut film ‘Hero’ was taken at the last minute. And unexpectedly, Mahesh garu fell sick. Anyway, our team has his blessings and his support. He will come out soon,” he added.
On his debut film, the actor says ‘Hero’ is neither a typical commercial Telugu movie nor does it fall into the ambit of offbeat genre. “I liked the works of director Sriram Adittya. His earlier films like ‘Samanthakamani’ have different graphs. Sriram’s thought process, writing and editing pattern stand apart from any typical Telugu filmmaker,” he adds.
Ashok, the son of parliamentarian Galla Jayadev, plays a boy-next-door role in the film which is produced by Padmavathi Galla under the banner Amararaja Media & Entertainment Industry.
The young hero admits that when his elders in the family came to know about his interest in films, they all were a little nervous. “Because film acting is a very uncertain career and it’s not like a regular job. But once they understood my passion towards it, they were convinced to support me. Although my father (Galla Jayadev) doesn’t have the knowledge in judging films, he could understand the filmmaking aspect and the treatment, and my mother and producer Padmavathi knows about films just like audiences. So, she found ‘Hero’ an entertaining subject on-screen,” he adds.
