Khammam: A Mahila Mart will be set up at the district headquarters should reflect and promote Khammam brand, said district Collector Muzammil Khan.

He told officials to design a logo and sticker of the mart highlighting Khammam brand. Paintings should be drawn depicting the specialty of the Mahila Mart special. The details of the products sold; the manufacturing process and the story of the woman selling should be documented and displayed next to the product on a flexi.

The mart’s furniture and other arrangements should be outstanding on par with private shopping malls. Good marketing should be ensured for the products manufactured by the women’s groups to generate more income for the women.

Efforts should be made to see that Mahila Mart would be grounded by the third week of February. Units that were run profitably by the women’s groups should be promoted by branding the materials manufactured by the women’s groups with a ‘Made in Khammam’ sticker on every item, the Collector suggested.

Later in the day, Khan inspected Bhakta Ramdasu Kala Kshetram’s modernisation work. The interior of the auditorium should be made more attractive, steps should be taken to remove the side fans and install air conditioning.

Seating arrangements should be made so that the dais could be clearly seen by the audience at the back. The auditorium should be made soundproof with a quality audio system and lighting has to be arranged in a manner that it would not cause inconvenience to the audience in front seats, he added.
