Major drug bust in Gachibowli, SOT nabs 11; two Nigerians absconding

Hyderabad: In a major crackdown on narcotic trafficking, the Gachibowli Police, along with the Madhapur Special Operations Team, arrested 11 persons for illegal possession, sale and consumption of narcotic substances at TNGO’s Colony in Gachibowli on Monday.
The police teams raided a hostel and caught Gutha Teja Krishna and Pakanati Lokesh Reddy. Following their confession, the police nabbed other suspects identified as V Ravi Kiran alias Bannu, P Harshavardhan Reddy, M Venkata Prashanth and Shajeer Motungara from a hotel in Madhapur.
According to the Cyberabad Police, investigation led to the identification and arrest of other consumers and distributors, exposing a wider network spread across Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana.
In total, 11 suspects were arrested, while eight others, including two Nigerians, are still absconding.
Police said the gang was procuring the contraband from inter-state suppliers and distributing it to youth and students through local contacts in Hyderabad.
Officials seized 32.1 grams of MDMA, 4.67 grams of marijuana, cash of Rs 10,000, 2 bikes and 6 mobile phones.
