Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Cybercrime police solved six cyber fraud cases and arrested seven suspects during the week from January 18 to 24.
Police said the investigations exposed a pan-India network of cybercriminals operating through multiple states.
According to Cybercrime officials, the cases included four investment frauds, one matrimony-related fraud and one part-time job scam. Most of the arrested individuals were involved in operating mule bank accounts used to receive and route fraudulent funds.
Police investigations revealed that victims were lured through fake investment advertisements, matrimony profiles and online job offers circulated on social media platforms such as Telegram and WhatsApp.
Fraudsters used forged trading applications and fake identities to project false profits and induce repeated deposits.
Cybercrime Police also facilitated refunds amounting to Rs 27.36 lakh to victims following court orders.
Officials urged citizens to remain cautious of unsolicited investment offers, guaranteed returns and online job schemes, and advised reporting cyber fraud incidents immediately through the 1930 helpline or cybercrime.gov.in.
