Hyderabad: Officials of the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) will lay the foundation stone for the new city bus terminal at the Zonal Workshop in Uppal on October 24.
The new city bus terminal aims to resolve traffic bottlenecks and ensure seamless commuter movement at Uppal junction. The need for constructing a new city bus terminal has come to light as the Uppal X Roads junction experiences heavy traffic congestion due to the simultaneous halting of district and city bus services, according to an official press release.
Necessary infrastructure, including heavy-duty concrete driveways, bus bays, public toilet blocks and portable passenger shelters, will be provided at the new city bus terminal. The terminal will cost Rs 3.20 crore, the release said.
