Malkajgiri police books 605 drunk driving cases on New Year eve
Malkajgiri traffic police booked 605 people for drunk driving during New Year eve checks, deploying 36 teams across the commissionerate. Officials said no major road accidents were reported, crediting strict enforcement and public cooperation.

Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri traffic police during a drunk driving check conducted on the eve of New Year caught 605 persons. Cases are booked against all those caught during the special drive and they will be produced before the court, said the Malkajgiri police.
Around 230 persons had alcohol reading more than 100 mg/100 ml of blood and 8 had more than 300 mg reading. Most of the cases were reported in LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Uppal, and Kushaiguda
Also, the driving license of those caught during the checking were seized and sent to the concerned RTAs for suspension as per section 19 of the MV act, 1988.
To prevent road accidents and other untoward incidents on December 31st night, 36 teams of Malkajgiri Traffic Police conducted drunk driving tests across commissionerate, said the traffic police officials.
With the extensive enforcement and traffic and road safety plans by Malkajgiri Traffic Police, there were no major road accidents anywhere in Malkajgiri.
