Man apprehended for number plate tampering in Hyderabad
In Hyderabad, Chaderghat police arrested a man in Malakpet for tampering with his vehicle’s registration number plate to evade traffic challans. The altered plate led to 23 challans being wrongly issued to the rightful owner of the registration number.
Hyderabad: The Chaderghat police arrested a man for allegedly tampering with the registration number plate of his vehicle to evade traffic violation challans.
The accused, identified as Syed Aliuddin, a resident of Malakpet, changed the registration number of his vehicle on the number plate and moved around violating traffic rules. Subsequently, a total of 23 challans were generated for traffic violations on the tampered vehicle number.
As a result, Faheem, the rightful owner of the vehicle registration number, started receiving the challans for the traffic violations he did not commit, leaving him frustrated. He then checked the photos posted against the challan on the Hyderabad Traffic Police website and found that the vehicle did not belong to him but the owner was misusing his registration number.
Frustrated with the series of traffic challans, Faheem approached the Chaderghat police and lodged a complaint against the impersonator. Based on the complaint, the Chaderghat police registered a case and launched an investigation. After analysing footage from the surveillance cameras in the area, the police caught Aliuddin and also seized his vehicle.
