Hyderabad: The Dabeerpura police on Saturday night arrested one person for his alleged involvement in a murder reported at a graveyard at Naga Bowli in Dabeerpura on Friday night.
The victim is identified as Imam Ali Shah, whose father was caretaker of the graveyard located at Dabeerpura for many years. Shah and his father collected money from the families of the deceased who are buried there towards maintenance costs.
There were disputes between Shah and the suspect Mohd Abdul over the money collected and the latter was demanding his share from the money.
“On Friday night, when a few people were digging a grave, Mohd Abdul went to the graveyard and stopped the work. When the victim Shah arrived and questioned him, Mohd Abdul took out a knife and stabbed Shah resulting in his death,” said N Satyanarayana, SHO Dabeerpura police station.
Mohd Abdul is previously involved in property offences reported in various police stations in the city. The police produced him before the court and remanded.
